The 2024 Election in USA
The real story of the 2024 Presidential Election in the U.S.A. is who did NOT vote. The Republican candidate received fewer votes than he ever did in the two previous tries. The Democratic candidate received a trickle of those who had voted Democratic four years before. This created the unusual situation that the "winner" was really the one who was less unpopular as measured by the 2020 election. This cannot be interpreted as a mandate, but as an "unpopularity" contest.
